Recruitment Information

Check out our Fall 2018 Recruitment video here: Check back later for the link!

As the Alpha Mu chapter of Zeta Tau Alpha we very much encourage you to participate in Formal Recruitment.

At Washburn, this is a fun filled weekend that can introduce you to new friends and have a great impact on your life. We hope that you'll consider joining our family after going through formal recruitment in September.

Here is a preview of what you have to look forward to during the weekend!

House Tours - (Friday): Potential Members will visit each of the 3 chapters on campus to take a tour through their house. Potential Members will be able to talk and get to know the members in each sorority.

Philanthropy Day - (Saturday): Potential Members will visit up to 3 chapters on this day. Potential Members will learn about the Philanthropy of each chapter, and what events they put on to raise money to support it. Zeta's National philanthropy is Breast Cancer Education and Awareness. On this day you will learn about the many events Zetas at Washburn participate in as well as Zetas all over the country put on to raise money for our National Philanthropy.

Preference Day - (Sunday): Potential Members will visit up to 2 chapters on this day. Today, Potential Members will be able to get a more in depth view of the sisterhood that the current members share and what Zeta Tau Alpha means to each of them.

Bid Day - (Sunday): Potential Members will get a bid to one of the chapters they visited during the weekend, and afterward celebrate with the rest of their new Pledge Class. At this time, girls going through recruitment are no longer Potential Members; they are New Members to the chapter to which they were given a bid! Today is a very exciting and fun filled day that both new members and chapter members enjoy!

CROWNing:
Continuously Recruiting Outstanding Women Now (CROWN) is also known as informal recruitment or COB. While it can occur anytime after formal recruitment in the fall, crowning typically takes place in the spring semester, if the chapter has available spots. While formal recruitment consists of multiple nights, the crowning structure like above extends a bid to a potential new member (PNM) after one event.
